I used to agree until I drove all 3 within a few months. E46 is a fantastic touring car, but did feel a bit bloated on a tight twisty road. E30 is now my top dog - While I’m sure many people would argue and quote faster lap times in an e46, or even e36, but at the end of the day, 99% of people shopping for a used M3

This is the most eloquent explanation as to why I love lightweight, low HP cars. I recently bought an E30 318is and have had to explain, over and over again, as to why I prefer it to a 325i(s).

Can someone explain to me why the GT86 is constantly mocked for not having power, but when Mazda upped the power in the miata to 181 (20hp less than the 86) everyone jumped for joy?

They certainly are cheap, but I can’t agree that an NC is better than an NA/NB. Faster, perhaps. But I felt that mazda lost its way a bit with the NC and it did not have the same soul I had experienced in an NA/NB

And this is why you don’t let your emotions make investments - Just think what that money would have done in a low risk investment account. Shit - Even if this guy had bought an s2000 or an e46 M3 he’d be doing well

Valid points, but that cayman will not appreciate in value

Brake Rotors (with the exception of track cars) - You can skip the Brembo slotted rotors and stick with OEM...take that saved money and get yourself a good set of pads

The time I sold my miata - Yea, that was the worst

Figure $80/hr @ 50 hours lands you at $4k. I’m sure there is some efficiency to be gained from getting all of this done at once, but a couple grand is reasonable for this work

pickCirca 2010 - I was driving my boss’s dad, who happened to also be a very famous & world renowned chef, from my office/warehouse in Newark back into NYC. Stopped for gas right outside the Holland tunnel and the car sputtered a bit when turning it back on - Didn’t think much of it, it was a modified & engine swapped

This is cool (I love me some LSD) but I can’t help but wish they would have done without the microsuede and GPS unit - This is where manufacturers can really cater to the enthusiast communities. Less weight, better suspension, NO GADGETS!

People pay $600 for that? Even if you aren’t wrenching yourself, I can’t imagine all of that coming to more than $200 unless batteries + filter are way over priced

The draw of the STI is not the HP, its the transmission, diffs, brakes..etc.

Yes, the chassis is too often overlooked.

Alternative would be to Kswap the car - K24 with bolt-ons ca, rather easily, hit ~230+whp and the aftermarket support for that motor stomps what is available for the F20/22

I’m a tire snob so I have to say....Tires. Kills me when I see a car with thousands of dollars worth of mods only to be running on cheap Chinese rubber

Get a Miata, you’ll learn to love driving

Give this to me without boy-racer graphics, without ostentatious wings/body molding, without a ton of unnecessary weight, and at a price that compares to a Fiesta ST and I might buy it.

Any word on what this thing is supposed to weigh?

I’m sorry but justifying buying a $100k car by saying you are “saving money” is a joke - I don’t have a problem with Teslas, but this is just BS
