Generally, steaks never go on the grill. Maybe that will change when I get my hands on a wood pellet grill, but until then...  Covered in olive oil, 3 minutes per side on high heat in a cast iron, then in the oven for 10 minutes @ 200* with toppings on top.  (Butter, mushrooms, shrimp, etc.)

As an IT Manager, I wouldn’t waste my time blocking it.  You’re either getting your job done or not, and you’re either using too much bandwidth or not.

Yea, except a lot of people, me included, are far more productive with something on in the background that isn’t the 100 random conversations that can’t be tuned out in some idiotville open-office floor plan.

An extra key fob?  I buy used.  I haven’t had a second key fob in like 8 years.

Maybe I just got lucky, but my house was one of the few spared on my street when I was in one of the worst neighborhoods in my city. I feel like the German Shepherds on the other side of the door might have helped.

Watching the game last night, and after he throws 97 behind a hitter, one of the announcers says, “Well, at least the batters won’t be comfortable in the box.”

Yea. Or the On Deck circle. Dude drilled the Ump in the leg with a heater.

It’s nice to have someone throwing Mr Snappy in the Bigs again.

My favorite is by far ‘Forest’.

That’s what I’m saying, though: While we’ve all heard the anecdotes, most people that are doing shit like that are doing it because they’re effing broke.

I’m pretty lucky now, because I earn OK and I live in a low-cost state, but most people really can’t afford that shit, even if they are doing the right thing and

The reason most of this movement / trade stuff happens is because of the ‘Max Contract’. If there was no ‘Max Contract’, you’d probably never have two actual in-their-prime superstars on the same team. If you didn’t have two on the same team, players wouldn’t need to exercise this level of agency just to feel like

Every time I read the sentiment “If you can’t afford to eat there, don’t.”....

Is everyone that says that independently wealthy, or do they not realize that like 60% of the country really can’t responsibly afford to eat out above like Wendy’s-level, and that if we went by that rule, like 70% of restaurants would go out

10 BK nuggets probably have like 4 ounces of actual chicken. if that’s white meat, that’s like $0.50 retail.

Now, we get to see what Paul sees as the bigger ego hit- taking pennies on the dollar in a buyout, followed by signing for the vet minimum, or never again sniffing even a Conference Finals.

I’ve had a Kobo that I used for ~ 4 years (got it clearance for $30). My wife has one of the nicer Kindles froma few years ago. Kobo is more open, Kindle is way easier if you’re only buying from Amazon.

That said, even though I prefer E-Ink, I still do most of my reading on my Surface. Having Calibre on my reader

I have a decent 4K / Bluray collection, and I have most of them w/ the digital version. I buy the disks in that case because they just look and sound far superior than anything streaming. The digital copies are great for throwing a movie on on a flight or in the kitchen or whatever as background noise.

When it comes to

I agree that there is value in owning *some* physical books. And, maybe, if I’m ever wealthy enough to not have to worry about moving them myself, I’ll re-build the library I started in my 20's when my back was pain-free.

That said, I’ve never had a ‘pop-up’ while reading a digital book, and I don’t personally put

Yea, which is why putting the same stuff on them sounds hella gross.

Maybe the coldest, most deadass comment I’ve ever read on the internet.

Why not just make risotto?

See, my Surface + Calibre + Book Bazaar Reader + OneDrive means I never have to worry about these things.

Whenever I buy a title, I drop it into Calibre, back it up, and create an ePub version to use.

I’m not 100% sure what the DMCA has to say, but the companies that retail e-books are doing so by playing on our

If we’re opening it up to that laundry list of other applications, it’s as reasonable or more that they have other vulnerabilities that would grant further control opportunities.  It’s far more common for a machine to be ‘traditionally’ compromised than just the camera to be compromised.
