By “car culture” I don’t think they’re specifically refering to enthusiasts. More the general population’s attitude towards cars and driving, which I have to agree doesn’t seem very enthusiastic these days. Cars are expensive, driving is stupid, and being places is dumb.

I think I got second-hand PTSD from this article.

A couple of the photos show focal plane distortion of the wheels which would indicate the car was at least moving when the pictures were taken, and not simply a static photo of a car superimposed on a background.

Does anybody with a life care?

It’s a pretty straightforward process, it’s not like swapping in new brake hoses or bleeding the system. If one has a high enough IQ to learn how to change a lightbulb, they can probably figure out putting new brake pads in.
