Yelling at the refs within an inch of their faces and pushing them is something that is not tolerated in *any* US sport. It’s a not a “quirk;” it is not “soccer players arguing.” This is players directly interfering with an official’s ability to make a call. Again, special.

Well, they can’t be that “strong.” It’s been talked about for decades and nothing meaningful has been done. Also, 95% of all fouls are called by the referee, so no, the other three guys are not doing much besides OOB and offsides.

Miss 1-2 games for a couple moderately rough tackles and/or opponent dives, yet get nothing for pushing and threatening an official. It’s sad, but you just have to remind yourself before watching any game, “This sport is a fraud,” and the experience goes much better.

I’d like you to name the players who did *not* intimidate and touch the refs in the case. At least nut shots involve actual contact, as opposed to the most “violent” fouls in international soccer, which often involve little/no contact followed by a 60-second stretcher ride and a leap off of it and back into the game.

There would have been 20 games worth of suspensions handed out had this occurred in any US sport.

Pretty easy to pay someone to cut the feed to the jumbotron until the call is official.

Pretty simple. Allow replay for any potential handball goal. No interpretation needed, and would only occur once every 10 games or so. That, or have more than one referee for the largest playing field in sports.

In any other sport, there are consequences for shoving and berating officials *while* they are trying to talk to each other. Soccer is truly special.

A friend passed out on the subway and was robbed (and yes, this happened). I said, “That sucks. But what the hell did you do to pass out on the subway.” It led to an intelligent conversation about behavior and risk — not some “don’t blame the victim” shouting match.
