I understand how intertwined The US’ and Canadas auto industries are and ultimately that is why a deal will get done. The point is that most of the negotiating is done and Canada is not going to be able/allowed to adjust much of it. They do have cards, but their position is weaker and they can’t afford to lose the US…

This is dumb. AMLO isn’t going to waste political capital tearing up an agreement his country needs and he wants. He and Trump have been in communication and are in agreement. This is getting done.

Canada doesn’t have much of a choice if they want to continue having an auto industry at all. Their negotiating is pretty much done save for some posturing.

That only works when the “bullies” have no leverage, and America has all the leverage now.

The fact Orlove doesn’t understand what is happening with NAFTA and doesn’t think it is good, tells me all I need to know. The Canadians haven’t participated because their negotiating is almost done. Lighthizer, Navarro, and yes Trump deserve some credit... They’ll just never get it here.
