Its a simple fact if you knew anything about the production of this film.

"Why call it Evil Dead then?" To get it funded and released. These guys dont have the pull of a Joss Whedon. Also Raimi produced the film and pushed for it to be its own movie. The aspects where this movie be's itself seemed to really upset fans. As always fuck the fanbase.

The first Rob Zombie Halloween is a genuinely terrible film, even removed from the fact that it is a remake.

It was a no win scenario for the film-makers. Any remake of Evil Dead would have gotten the exact same negative response that one did. That would have been absolutely amazing. If they played it just like they did without even commenting on it.

The best part is that these movies, Lethal Weapon 5 - Lethal Weapon 6 are sequels to the first two Lethal Weapon movies completely ignoring the events of 3 &4. And with this installment they've introduced some interesting genre elements by having a villain rise from the dead. This is all good stuff. Good job.
