Oooh, those are great.

I think you hit the nail on the head regarding sustained costs over multiple years. I would be surprised if he had that high of costs for the next few years, unless it’s by choice through performance upgrades.

I think you’re on to something. Have you seen how much larger trucks are now than they used to be? A new F150 is as big as an older super duty. My neighbor has a 2002 Tundra - what was considered full size back then, though admittedly on the smaller side. It’s smaller than a new Colorado/Canyon and those are

Oh man, this hit me right in the feels. My college car was a ‘94 LS, black with a V6, manual and tan leather interior. Really too nice a car for a college kid but I loved it. My first summer I put on a performance muffler and that V6 really did sound great. It was great looking and reliable. I got it with ~70k and

Came here for this, leaving satisfied. Thank you, sir!

Very interesting to hear. I was getting my 996 serviced at the local indy shop that has a surprisingly open door policy to their shop. There’s always lots to drool over that makes my 996 C2 look as cool as a 90's Tercel. Anyway there was a black Countach in line with about a dozen other exotics waiting for service.

I understand. Current garage is a Touareg V10TDI and a 996. Polar opposites but both fun in very different ways. The VW is more expensive to maintain, and insure...

Minnesotan here, anecdotal evidence tells me the CRV is what young professional women buy as a first car. The aspirational car is the RAV4. To be fair both seem to be good, cheap (less so on the RAV4), reliable, AWD (read: year round), economical transportation - if a bit boring. For this climate you could

Sorry to hear about your luck. The issue with the IMS is you have to do it before you have a problem, or you’re looking at much larger repair. There is no inexpensive recovery once it fails, which you know all about...

Pretty easy to get around the IMS problem with now several aftermarket solutions. All in to do IMS, RMS, and clutch through an indy shop you’re looking at ~$3k-3.5K and you’ve dealt with the scariest part of the engine. Plus purchase that does go over $10K but I have seen cars in not great shape for well under $9k.

Sure did and I’m sure they’ll be worth plenty more as time passes. The price just has me scratching my head.

Has anyone watched Leblanc hosting the TG clip shows? He's totally deadpan. I'm really not sure about him as a host but maybe he's better with others he can play off of. Solo he can't carry it.

I'm reminded of the Top Gear review of the Lexus LFA, especially the part where Hammond is going through the cost starting 50 grand. That's exactly how I feel about the 911R...
