Yes, the flathead came first. I acknowledged that. But hotrodding didn’t become a nationwide phenomenon until the GIs came back from WWII with the means and desire to go fast. The ‘50s were when the hot rodding scene blew up and the Rocket, SBC, and the Hemi were all around for it.
The sad thing is, XP was superior to what came before and after it.
