I made a gif to dedicated to 2021.

I like that the dispatcher identified it as the white van that’s on fire, as not to be confused with the other vans that are on fire.

Seriously, though, they are super lucky that there wasn’t a house built across the street from theirs.

Van out there proving to everyone you can live up to your idols

The Foreign Corrupt Practices Act has always been amusing to me. It is illegal to do business in the US but lobby foreign governments, yet it is perfectly legal here to bribe....errr lobby US officials. Guess the US doesn’t like other countries to enjoy the legal bribing that happens here.

Finally, a police bodycam video I didn’t mind watching. Officer Harris did a good job this day (wish we got his first name), checked on the home and helped stomp out the fire.

I read it that way too.

They’ve had to crack down on smart watches at bases now that they have built-in microphones/GPS/altimeters/4G connection. You can record the conversations and walk a pretty accurate layout in 3D and sync it to an off-site server all in real time.

...production of the Murano crossover will be suspended...

This reminds me of that fiasco where US military in the Middle East were found to be wearing GPS tracking Fitbits while on duty.

I work on a facility that nobody (outside of employees) are allowed to bring cell phones in to. Cameras are so common place now that we don’t think about it, but it is a major security problem.

Exactly. I would actually be surprised (and, as an American, angry) if the US military allows camera-equipped vehicles to sensitive areas behind the gate.

4th Gear,

You are both nuts. Guards Red is the best red.

RE: 1st Gear.

My take, as well. For $21k, this is a driver, not a collector. If the ISB is good to go, it’s a tempting price. If not, it’s in the “meh” area.  Still an NP contender for me, and this is my least favorite Porsche body.

You are comparing a 996.1 to a 996.2, autotragic vs cab.  A 996.2 has a number of updates (and much nicer top), and the manuals bring in a lot more money.

I lost it at HAIM, the rest was just gravy.

Imagine this for a moment: It’s summertime, and you’re pulling up to a stoplight. As you come to a stop, there’s an absolute certified dime next to you. She’s driving something boring... maybe a mini-lux crossover like an Audi Q3.

Contrary to the seller’s assertion, a 996 Cabrio with >100k miles isn’t going to be a worthy addition to your portfolio, but the rising tide of the “better” 911s will keep the value from dipping much below the current market, and $21k is about the bottom for a 911 without any obvious flaws. Buy it to enjoy it, rather

“Investment”? Not so sure.
