I guess you’ll be shocked to learn that marriage exists in Hinduism, Buddhism, was practiced among pagans, by Ancient Greeks, Native Americans—plenty of people with literally no connection to Abrahamic theology, with their own beliefs and interpretations of marriage, many of whom still get married in the United States

This. THIS. Why do these people choose these battles? Isn’t it kind of...diluting the message?

Or like Mahatma Gandhi Bara Dada said:

I’m atheist, and Richard Dawkins almost converted me to Christianity.

It’s really surprising to see some of the most interesting new design from Hyundai and Kia but I’m definitely here for it. They’re working their way up my list for my next car.

To credit Honda’s mind-boggling reliability and quality - my 2006 Honda Ridgeline with over 115,000 miles on it is more reliable than any of my friends GM / Ford / Ram trucks that are all less than 5 years old. And mine doesn’t even rattle over bumps after 13 years. It’s amazing. It’s not “cool” though.

Ssssssshhhhhhhh! If they know what’s actually in the Bible and how it contradicts the parts they choose to cherry pick and believe, they might... Do nothing, because blind faith isn’t rational or logical. Never mind, carry on.

That last part is why I just picked up a CPO ‘16 Sonata Limited. It’s not the excitementmobile of my past vehicles, but damn...I can sleep at night without wondering what’s going to break next.

This must be what adulting feels like.

As a lifelong German sedan devotee, I have to admit: I find the current mid-sized crop from Hyundai/Kia and Honda to be awfully compelling.

So she puts Chick fil A on equal footing with Christ.

Rob is always teaching me something about a used car I didn't know.

NP because it comes with a Lego man wearing a hat in the engine bay.

Ahem, she quit her dean position, while maintaining her professor position. So she’s probably taking a cut in pay and prestige, but she’s not “sacrificing” a full paycheck.

No bullshit. Just come to work and talk shit about your boss / company when you get home like the rest of us. Also, if she was that upset with the move, why stay on as a professor?

Marriage used to serve a much different purpose even within Christianity not that long ago. It was much more a property transaction. They do things every day counter to the doctrines of Christianity and yet that is the sticking point, half of them being divorced anyway.

100% this.

Not only did she resign as Dean, she’s apparently staying on as a professor??? Wow, that should make for such awkwardness that she may not last long in that role, either. And they should watch her and her interactions with students CLOSELY. She could easily drum up anti-whatever sentiment with students to create some

Reading this article this morning was worth it just for the weird brakes alone. That’s Torchinsky quality automotive weirdness right there. Good work as always, Rob.

Note that she didn’t quit her job entirely.  Just the administrative part.  So she still gets to be a professor, which doesn’t pay poorly.  And if she’s making decisions like this during her day-to-day then I’m guessing no one is sorry to see her step out of her authority role.

Newman, a “very committed Christian,” told Campus Reform that she felt “punched in the stomach” by the university’s statement.
