They are great in something that is not the size of a house. The trails that overlanders use to get to those remote locations, thus necessitating jerry cans or the improved range of a diesel would be impassible in a Z71 Tahoe, much less a Suburban. They are simply too large.

A real overlander would take all of the Z-71 specific parts and replace them with whatever aftermarket parts that suits their “tougher, rougher” build anyway. If they wanted the diesel, they can still get one in a base model and upfit from there.

I’m afraid it’s too late for this one. I has never been taught how to survive in the real world. It wouldn’t make it on it’s own in the real world.
