While I love manuals, having one for a DD in Houston is a nightmare. I only ended up keeping my FoST for a year and a half, unfortunately.

I tried to convince my wife to go for a wagon(specifically a used 2015 Volvo V60), and she laughed comically even at the suggestion. She ended up with a 2016.5 Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring, still nice for what it is, but no wagon.
