That's different though. Gay people just pop up randomly to straight and sometimes homophobic parents. Black people are only born to black people (and occasionally adopted by white families).

No, I'd say that a film about gun control which presented and endorsed only one side (as long as it wasn't preachy, and only presented a straightforward explanation of why increased gun control seems to be a necessity in our society) *would* be entirely entertaining, interesting, and fair.

Poe's Law: Can't tell if an insane right-winger, or just doing a nutty parody of one.

Saltines, while a bit blant, are tasty and have a pleasant crunch and make a nice snack, especially with peanut butter between them.

"Watters world satirizes everybody. Not just Chinese."

Well, yeah, no shit. When someone does something disgusting and hurtful, everyone is damn well going to want an apology, and it had damn well better be sincere.

No, this particular scene - unlike the racism in Family Guy, particularly that horrid anti-Semitic caricature who's just played straight - makes it abundantly clear that racist Asian stereotypes played for laughs are disgusting and cruel, and also unfunny and socially unacceptable.

"this is one of those films where i have little confidence that it will keep politics out of it."

"Because it's politicizing a tragedy?"

Uh, that's exactly what explains the masses of bloodshed there.

Wussypillow is just a right-wing troll. They're trying to highlight this imaginary hypocrisy that wingnuts imagine that liberals have toward Islam.

"I guess I just disagree is all."

"The colonial age is 40, 50, 60 years and more gone."

K.C. Green - of "this is fine" dog-in-a-fire - was pissed when the GOP used his image to try to mock the DNC convention back in July (which makes no sense to begin with, since the convention was incredibly strong as compared to the mess that was the RNC convention earlier, but whatever.)

That's actually a very real word. "Transphobia" is bigotry against trans people in general, while "transmisogyny" refers to bigotry against trans women specifically.

The title/logo for Serenity was written in papyrus. I'd argue that it works, although that may only be because of my adoration for the film.

"Social Justice Warrior" is such a bullshit term that constantly gets thrown out to try to silence extremely valid criticism - but it's apparently also a very, very real thing in addition to being a strawman.

"General Grievous (a robot with consumption?)"

*New Zealanders, not Australians.
