It also proceeds to give Subaru a lot of very interesting character development, which is a sight to behold in this genre. Subaru starts out as a complete idiot; after a healthy encounter with reality, he proceeds to grow as a human being, despite remaining a complete and utter dork. Re-Zero is a story with actually

Konosuba and Re-Zero are fairly intelligent, I’d argue, but I do agree 99% of all Isekai anime are stupid bullshit.

That comment feels like a parody. Thank you for not dismissing it; it got a chuckle out of me.

Never really enjoyed any of their output other than Elfen Lied, but it is always sad to see an animation studio close. Here’s hoping all their staff will be able to find employment soon - especially Rin Shin. He’s an excellent designer, and I was always displeased that the opening to Elfen Lied was the only one of his

I don’t believe I ever argued that criticism was controversy, just that the game was embroiled in controversy qualified by enormous amounts of criticism, lots of which was incredibly toxic.

I think you misinterpreted my post slightly. What I mean is: the game might or might not be remembered for its technical aspects and its gameplay. Regardless of that, I believe it will be remembered for the enormous controversy surrounding its launch, wich mixed genuine criticism of its story and mechanics with people

You just said it yourself: “a degrade of quality”. The fact that the game has mild amounts of fanservice constitutes a reduction in quality, in your view. In other words, you’ve just proven my point entirely.

People still remember the controversy that surrounded MGS2 when it came out, and that title was released when the internet did not have half the reach it commands today. And that’s despite the fact that MGS2 had a plot that was genuinely revolutionary in the gaming space, regardless of whether you believe that plot

Last of Us 2's words and story definitely will be remembered for years to come.

Corpse Run is normally the worst of the bunch, but they killed it this week. Not necessarily the best of these comics, but they got a genuine chuckle out of me.

Will it ever come to PC, I wonder?

Miyazaki’s a pretty frank man, ahaha. Sometimes I think he is just like Yoko Taro deep down, only a LITTLE bit more restrained.

I get your complaints perfectly; I just think you are trying way too hard to say that fanservice bothers you without sounding prudish.

Which is a perfectly fine, though also 100% subjective, opinion to have. Don’t try to hide by saying the game could have more quality and immersion without said “titfest”, especially

I have long been convinced this game is a scam. This only solidifies that perception.

Not exactly:

“Just look at Nioh 2. It could’ve been great, the settings and the art.
But then of course it just ends up being a tits show”.

Nioh 2 is a good game. Not sure what you’re on about. You find it bad because it has some fanservice? Plus, that picture you posted is from one the game’s final bosses. I find it hard to understand how a single boss fight that shows breasts equals a titfest.

Great news. The more people that get to play this gem, the better.

They are all still available. Maybe not from the creators themselves, but you can be sure there are lots of torrents and downloads of all these out there.

This is delightful - a treasure trove of historic artifacts. I don’t know who leaked these files, but I definitely owe them a beer or two.
