I'm told you can't finish it, but from what I've played it's very far along. This is truly "early access" to a game that is in its late stages, not some pre-alpha cash grab. From what I understand they'll be balancing it based on player feedback and adding some new content like more character classes but the core game

It's permadeath, BUT characters are a lot harder to kill in this game than a typical RPG. If a character's HP runs out they enter a near death state, in which they can still take one or two hits before they actually die, so you get a chance to heal them or retreat before they are killed permanently. There is always a

IMO The Last of Us doesn't immediately reveal how wonderful it is. I started out playing it like a stealth game, trying to be silent and deadly. It was tedious, to be honest. But the game is potentially so much more than that. The AI is extremely playful, but it's not obvious until you start experimenting. Making

We all know what the best shootout of all cinema is.

Just keep on talking, friend. You're doing the work of the social justice warriors for them.

No Lizzie Caplan? Not even a little? I wish everyone could see how sad my face is right now.

Already? When has a game not had to deal with technical restrictions in order to run well?

The irony here being that Blizzard modeled its Warcraft and Starcraft universes off Warhammer.

I read the book. Honestly I don't know how they could have done it more justice with the movie. It is almost shot-for-shot translated from the comic page. It was like they didn't even have a script, they just used the comic as a storyboard. The only thing they changed was the ending (for the better IMO) and extended

Their products all look like children's toys from the 90's, mixed with tacky dudebro tribal designs.

Condolensces from a fellow southpaw.

The actual gameplay, based on my experience, will be an acquired taste. People who are used to deathmatch games where you can just charge the opposition in a hail of bullets won't have much fun with this at first. The weapons in this game seem to function more like tools and if you don't take the time to understand

Did anyone else agree that FF12's problem was Vaan being too butch?

I love everything about it except the combat itself... it was too difficult for me to wrap my head around and I never seemed to establish a good rhythm or flow. I think I may have just been in the wrong mood/state of mind to play it at that time. The music, the art, the voice acting, the lore, overall presentation and

Things like meshes and lighting effects aren't too hard to scale up and down for different hardware, but animations actually are. The more bones you put in a model, the more detailed the animation gets but it also takes up exponentially more processing power. I don't know for sure, but I imagine Telltale is

Their games aren't just developed for high end PCs but also various consoles and mobile devices. That's why they've been able to keep making these games. And as long as they're using that strategy, you're not going to see them using cutting-edge tech.

fifteen wheel skeletons in every room!

Inquisition is a really nice looking game, *except* for the jankiness in the animation of the characters. Characters look perfect when they're standing still but as soon as their mouths move, it's a little jarring. I can't help but think if they'd made the characters look more like Matt's art, that uncanny valley

What I would *hope*, is that matchmaking gets mostly players who are around the same level with 1 or 2 overpowered players on each team. That way it's mostly fair but you gotta watch out for that one dude who can take you out really easily. And if you're that overpowered player, you have to hunt down the other OP guy

The only things that require team play are special Strike missions, in which matchmaking is provided, and the one raid, Vault of Glass. You can solo all the other content.
