Maybe this has something to do with the switch of personnel between Lewis’ and Nico’s garages? Didn’t 5 engineers move from Nico to Lewis and vice versa, to “shake things up.”

Has anyone seen this old Disney Cartoon? I remember seeing it as a child (may have contributed to my love of cars), but there seems to be a definite precedent set:
