The perennial problem with seeding a big twist is that whatever you have in mind has got to meet the expectations of the audience, and then surpass them, in order to be effective.

Ideally you want everyone to be coming to a single conclusion, based on the clues you set up, just shortly before you either confirm their

It appears to be different characters in the same universe. It doesn’t seem to include the same names, but the themes are very similar. It might be a prequel, but I hope it’s a sequel (exploring the inheritors of Mickey’s legacy).

The original is about the kingpin (McConaughey) of a massive British weed empire, and

I found AC combat to be what you make of it, in terms of excitement... the counter-focused combat made it easier to do cinematic stuff. It became less about “can I beat these guys” (because obviously, yeah, unless you miss your cues) and more “can I beat these guys with style.

For my casual level of gaming, at

If there’s no ship-boarding combat, then they didn’t really replicate the Black Flag loop, did they? Because I have distinct memories of grabbing a rope and kicking a latch to fly up into the rigging, leaping across the yardarms, cutting down enemy snipers from their nests and diving down to the deck to wreak havoc

The animation in this game is so top-tier. A lot of praise for the gameplay, but much love for the animation.

There’s already a growing business in paying digital artists pennies on the dollar to touch up AI-generated output. It’s one of the new entry-level roles an artist can seek out when they’re desperate and hungry, but I question how far you can take those skills.

There was a time when entry-level artists got paid to do

The characters are all just so thin, like there’s just no depth to anyone and they’re loaded with tropes. Which may have some appeal, I guess, but after a while it just gets silly. Everyone just feels incredibly generic.

I give ‘em a half-point for switching up one character, sorta, except they lose a full point for

Only just hearing about this DLC now, but did they essentially pull the gameplay loop from Hades?

Who said anything about a control Vault? Maybe Vault 33 is one of the “make it even better than a control Vault” experiments. One where the residents were properly pampered. If you’re gonna set up a few Vaults to be nightmare scenarios, you may as well set up a few as better-than-perfect ideals. You might expect those

My understanding is that every Vault was different, and each was a form of experiment, with many remaining unknown. It’s not at all implausible that one Vault was set up with all the amenities and comforts that Vault-Tec could supply, with the simple goal of seeing whether or not that population thrives more

Having your home base just chuffing about the map at all times is one of those generally inconsequential but incredibly fun immersive details that elevate games from a pasttime to an experience. :)

Just to be clear, the only functionality being lost for these primarily single-player, pre-service/lootbox games is their online multiplayer, and the ability to earn Ubibucks to spend at the Ubistore?

They don’t care. Greatly oversimplifying the process and techniques involved serves their approach to reporting, and it’s not as though they’re actually interested.

In a minute they’ll be telling you that Akira was animated on ones.

In a couple of them he’s holding conversations. In at least one, he’s conversing with someone else dressed in a much cheaper Spider-Man costume (presumably one of the people working Times Square for photos).

I’ll miss those transitions, they were charming.

Generally speaking, the cosplay community cares a lot more about effort than semantics.

He can’t be at a full draw though, the arc of the bow is flat! Unless all the tension is in the string, like this is a bow made by Nerf. XD

Yeah, just... in general, terrible. And what kills me is that the sculptor clearly knew better, but somewhere between shipping and setup the string needed to be put on, and the

Man, people gonna people. I hope they face the consequences for the actions.

I’m here to talk about being uncommonly irritated by the bow string on that statue. The bow is not being drawn! There’s no flex! The right hand is clearly not meant to be holding the bowstring, and he’s drawing it over his arm! Some idiot who

A Tachikoma would be intensely more practical than this. For one thing, it’s about a third the size, and so doesn’t need to be so damn heavy or slow. Watching this thing move like a geriatric with severe osteoporosis is painful. Watching it make “punching” motions is just sad.

Shirow indulged himself with giant mecha

This is disgustingly plausible. No bets.

Seems like they might have done that one on purpose... figuring it’s easier to set the weight on the judge alone, and then claim “the judge hates me” (and how could they not, I’ve been shit-talking them at every opportunity).

It’s going to be really interesting to see if that has any effect on the actual courts.
