That little promo bit with Tan was the cutest cross-promotion I’ve ever seen. I want to hug it.

I read an article recently where a woman was cyberbullied by a man because she replied to his comment on a controversial news story - apparently he was angry about her reply, looked up her profile and started sending abusive emails, trying to mess with her finances, etc. I wouldn’t be surprised if this guy saw a

I was an adult woman and an adult man took me to a Buffalo Wild Wings located inside a movie theater on our first date, but we weren’t going to a movie. This was 2008-ish, so early enough that most people did not have smart phones and therefore didn’t necessarily have a camera in their pocket. After the server takes

First Date: He took me to a great dinner, nice place, and during asked the waiter how much longer dinner would take, we had a show to get to. I, having no idea about the show, asked what we were seeing. He said he was taking me to the newly opened high class strip joint. I am young, I am impressionable, I have never

But why only half an hour of golf?

I read The Help and wanted to know more about the working women and their perspectives. The Help’s author referenced Telling Memories Among Southern Women by Susan Tucker, so I got a copy.

I don’t live in NY and so I have not heard of this woman. Regardless of other drama in her background, her accounting of the assault sounds very plausible to me just because I know so many other women who’ve gone through scenarios exactly like that.

Can we please address what a fucking idiot this man is for FILMING WHILE DRIVING WITH HIS ENTIRE FUCKING FAMILY IN THE CAR?

You’re not wrong. I’m pretty read up on Avital Ronell because I’m in academia and this is pretty much all anyone in my field can talk about right now (with good reason). And to top it off, Kraus’ take is pretty garbage. But honestly, all the Kraus/twitter stuff is pretty incoherent, so I wouldn’t bother with it.

Now I’ve got “Chris Kraus will make you jump jump,” stuck in my head.

lol @ “if you are a woman who thinks your own subjectivity/interiority/heterosexuality can be made into narrative Art it’s most likely because of her”

Wow, I don’t know if it’s the recent turnover in writers, but more and more I find myself really surprised at the tone of Jezebel’s articles. This is extremely unnecessary, and I hope you’re never confronted by something like this when you ultimately lose a loved one.

Netflix never manages to recommend me shows I actually want to watch, either. I’ve watched every season of “Call the Midwife” at least 3 times, but do they tell me when there’s new episodes? Nope, never. But they’ll certainly email me to let me know “Always Sunny” has a new season! Even though I hate that show!

Yep. Labor (actors, in this case) shouldn’t have to take cuts so management (studios) don’t have to treat pay more.

Thanks for saving me a copy and paste. Exactly this. His stance is completely reasonable.

Not long after that interview, Dominic West publicly supported Wilson’s comments and said he’d take a pay cut for a woman co-star on an indie project “as long as resources are limited.” West told Variety, “But in a long-running TV show money is not a problem and there’s no excuse for it.” Hmm, okay.

I agree. But I would have been pretty bummed if I did that and got the response Pearl did. I mean she seems to be very reasonable about it now, but my reaction would have been the same as hers.

As a non famous jubilant person with a very dry / dark sense of humor -

I think it’s less about shaming and more about how a statement like that appears to devalue a person beyond sexual worth. And it’s not very respectful of the other person’s privacy.

“Few, if any, men would be offended if an ex said this.”
