They removed Hillary Clinton, the U.S. Secretary of State, from a photo (the Bin Laden death notification photo) in a Jewish newspaper just because she’s a woman. They literally erased her from history.

Oh, and, no, hell, no, to this bullshit:

am i the only one who thinks that Spencer Hall got a little bit of a pass in this piece?

“TL;DR”

The SB Nation Editorial Director seems like he really is horrified about what happened and wants to prevent it from happening again. A+ to him.

Yes, the fucking Steubenville rape apologists have found a new cause. I saw this on pinterest and it was so right on about what happened:

It might have protected him more and offered him more victims.

The man abused women he knew were vulnerable and wouldn't be able to say no. He is a predator. I don't think not going pro would have stopped him. It might have protected him more and offered him more victims. Failing football didn't turn him into a predator.

“I and my editor” He fucking wrote “I and my editor”. A person who makes his living writing wrote that.

Same vibe. All the “convicted” language distances him from calling the guy a rapist himself.

I read the piece (it was as bad as everyone says), and the way he uses the word “convicted” bothered me there and it bothers me in his apology. The whole time, it felt like he was trying to put the whole responsibility for Holtzclaw’s conviction on the courts rather than on Holtzclaw’s actions. Just call him a rapist.

I and my editor at SB Nation hoped to find possible answers as to what could have led to him to become a convicted rapist and sexual predator.

I hoped to present a more fully-rounded portrait of Mr. Holtzclaw than had appeared in the press. I hoped to explore the question of what had happened to this once-promising young man.

I’ve always thought “we’re all Africans” and “colourblind” phrases were ways that people who are out of touch (like, say, my parents) express their pro-SJ feelings, since they lack the modern SJ vocabulary to explain it less awkwardly. Well intentioned, but clumsy by today’s standards.

I don’t see anything actually wrong with the comment now. She was asked if she can understand movies from certain cultures, and her response was basically, “I don’t know much about the intricacies of the Middle East but I think we all share some commonalities and I understand the humanities in those films.” Maybe I’m

It’s a little more than “not exactly what happened.”

So, when will SB Nation editors and writers be walking out over a trampling of their editorial rights?

If you want to write a long story that paints a complex portrait of a villain, it is adivisable to first find a villian with some degree of complexity. Former college football player turned cop who likes to rape women ain’t exactly Richard III.

Dammit, I came here hoping for a Mariah Carey-esque tour rider. Bernie doesn’t like busy patterns. He also wants 20 white kittens and 100 white doves to be released when he goes on stage for the debate.

So, basically, it’s like everytime you try to have a faculty meeting. Everyone is never free on the same night.
