That’s what I thought. I could see native Virginians getting annoyed at this, but otherwise? Please.

Even Liam Neeson’s character is shown to actually have some pretty big issues around race!

Is this why the Netflix Fyre Festival doc has that random part where Ja Rule says, “Are you Fuck Jerry?” and then we never hear about Fuck Jerry again?

I hadn’t heard of him so I’d assumed Fuck Jerry was gonna be returned to at some point but...nope.

“Hyper” literally means “over, beyond, above.” It doesn’t mean “very,” it means “too.” My cat has hyperthyroidism—that doesn’t mean her thyroid is just generally a hard worker, it means her thyroid is doing too much and it’s a problem. The prefix by definition implies criticism.

Yknow, while we’re being pedantic.

Yes, thanks. White people* think it’s awesome allyship to just spew racism trauma everywhere. See also: men and sexist trauma. YES step one of what we want from you is to acknowledge that these oppressions exist, both around you and within you. That is not the final step! Oppressed people did not tune into a Q&A about

I never read these because I kept hearing variations on “the impact of [X] was mostly ignored.”

Oh god please tell me they’re not going to use a real monkey.

There’s a restaurant in my parents’ neighborhood called AOC (apparently it’s a French culinary thing) and I always smile when I pass it.

Ugh, I was “starred” at Jezebel back in the day but left after they published (and then insufficiently explained) that weird “French girls like being sexually harassed essay.” Sometimes I pop back and remain unimpressed.

And he never said the stuff poured on him was bleach--that was TMZ.

Then why isn’t it “la-CROW-ix?”

And maybe he’ll remember the time he wore blackface.

The walk around the one pleasant block made me realize: oh right, Greg hates it here, why would he move back and open a restaurant?

Is his plan really to open a restaurant and then immediately go back to Atlanta?

Wait it’s not ending on Valentine’s Day? But that’s the logical end of their series! (Of holidays.)

Agreed! (And this post seems weirdly snarky about the show? Even to apparently doubting that many people truly watched it.)

Wait, are there not commercial breaks during the Oscars? And isn’t the songs being performed the only good part of the whole thing

Of all the people lynched for being Republicans? Sure, I guess zero and zero are “nearly equal” numbers.

This is truly brilliant. She is clearly a devoted student of both shows.

It often takes training to act and sing at the same time--just as classical training helps Shakespearean verse sound natural enough that you can actually perform it instead of reciting it.
