Fair, but Rickman’s lack of singing ability led them to cut a number that’s actually REALLY important to understanding the story. It is the only time I’ll ever say, “Alan Rickman should not have been cast in that.”

Ugh I WISH she’d said, “not approps,” which is what she’d actually say. It drove me crazy that she said, “not apprope,” singular. 

Plus it would’ve been actually ironic—a parallel to Nathaniel casting himself as the nerdy underdog. Instead it was just two pretty WASPy guys with strong chins.

I had talked myself into him but this episode made me realize it was kind of a sham. He was just so positive and earnest in that opening scene, it made him feel like a 100% different character. Tried to imagine Santino in his stead and I just don’t know.

It looks like it was taken out of context not by the documentary, but by people criticizing him for it now? I too am confused as to why he’d be criticized for this. 

I just saw the quote here, out of context, and immediately assumed Chance was matter-of-factly owning up to how he’d let male privilege blind him in the past. He should be held up as an example of how to be a good, growing person.
