WHY DOES EVERYONE KEEP LEAVING US?!

I wouldn't call badges such as Computer Expert, Entrepreneur, and Financing My Future "girlified."

Met my husband of six months (and one week) on OKCupid more than three years ago. :D

Can we please stop calling groping sexual harassment and properly call it sexual assault?

Restaurants serving locally-grown ingredients tend to be pretty expensive IME. All those "farm to table" trendy places are where I might eat on a really fancy occasion (and theoretically my husband & I could spend a lot more money on food than we do).

Olive Garden is fucking amazing. For me, it's more cold-weather food, so I haven't been in awhile. But cold weather is just around the corner in the Midwest, so you can bet Beau Mari and I will be hitting it up soon. Also, we eat so little that we can split an entree and still have leftovers. WINNING!

I had the same reaction. I was like, "Yeah, real roses are nice. Should Olive Garden start decorating their tables with roses?"

It seems like you don't quite grasp the concept of privilege. Clearly there's no point in furthering this discussion.

I have no idea. It was listed with other head stuff, like hats and bandannas.

Going on and on that 87 degrees is no big deal is indicative of having no health issues in heat, aka having able-bodied privilege.

I hate being one of those "check your privilege" people, but here I go.

I agree, but Jezebel didn't summarize this all that well. The dress code also bans hoodies, sweatpants, leggings, skinny jeans, and HEADBANDS. It's completely ridiculous, and Jezebel's summary of it makes it all seem completely normal.

Jezebel did a piss-poor job of covering this by citing the midriff thing. No tank tops period are allowed. Headbands, skinny jeans, leggings, "low-cut blouses" (which sounds great in theory but totally discriminates against busty girls), and sweatpants are all included in the banned items.

Jezebel included a poor example, but a quick Google search indicates that the dress code is actually ridiculous. Sure, crop tops are banned. Normal stuff. But so are headbands, skinny jeans, and sweatpants. Um... really?!

Truancy is also a law. That's not breaking a stupid rule—that's breaking the law. We have to follow stupid laws for the privilege of living in the United States, but we also get to vote on the people making the laws.

I feel like Jezebel just did a shitty job of covering this situation. Most schools ban midriff-baring tops. But a quick Google search reveals that other banned items include sweatpants, skinny jeans, leggings, hoodies, and headbands. I'm 27, and I own one pair of jeans that AREN'T skinny. I just bought a pair of

Except students are compelled by law to attend school. They are not compelled by law to have a specific job with a specific dress code. I don't think the "real world" comparison holds much water here.

Having met my husband on OKC, I agree with you in general. But I lived in several cities (and two countries) while using OKC, and finding potential matches who lined up with my values* varied WILDLY based on where I lived. And the racial diversity varied even more.

I know I'm late to this party, but...
