@Dodgergirl: Had I been closeby, I would have totally lent you fridge space because that seriously sucks. I'm glad you had some good things happen this weekend despite that massive inconvenience, and I hope you get a break on rent this month...

My birthday was today, and it was a bit rough—the husband and went to visit our parents yesterday and while it was a nice day (we took Amtrak to our parents' houses), today utterly sucked—I was hoping to get home in the middle of the afternoon and taking it easy, but our train was egregiously late and we were at a

@JessickerFletcher: Justice's "Cross" album has some great dance tracks to get you moving, and I'm always a fan of Ben Folds Five 's "Whatever and Ever, Amen."

My husband has always been a huge fan of Terry Moore's "Strangers in Paradise" series, and when I showed him this post, he pointed out why—it's a female-led series with women of different body types—one embodies more of what you'd expect in a graphic novel, but both are shown with lumps and bumps that are inherent to

I accidentally went as sexy-subway-rider today: the strapless top I was wearing under my other top slid down to reveal my lovely La Perla bra from me adjusting too many travel bags at once—I was fortunately wearing a trenchcoat over it.

@PinkSoxHat: We're going to watch O'Reilly tonight for this same reason.

I was not a fan of this trend when I was planning my own wedding—it seemed so self-indulgent. I can even justify things like a boudoir shoot or an engagement shoot more than this—the former you can give to your partner and the latter can be used as parent gifts and whatnot. This just seems silly.

@banh mi: Roasted veggies are the shit, as is Yuengling. That is all. :-)

@ihateyourescalade: My husband got a nasty cold a few weeks ago, I caught a lesser version of it, and we've finally shook it. Of course, now one of my officemates has what I think is bronchitis—it's going to be a lovely cold season...

@snugbug: Thanks! I wish we were in Paris, but NYC will have to do for now. :-)

My husband's and my first anniversary is tomorrow! As cliche as it is, we're headed to Pastis for brunch to celebrate properly, then we're making pizza for dinner.

@all: Thanks ladies—it's been a fucked-up week on account of that—all day Wednesday I felt like someone was playing Yahtzee with my brain.

@fembot111: What pissed me off the most about that movie that it wasn't terribly funny. It was like they took all of the aspects about the series I hated the most (mainly all of the frivolous crap) and placed it front-and-center, and they lost all of the heart that redeemed the show even in its most ridiculous

@Island of Misfit Toys: Incorporate more beans into your diet, as they are packed with fiber and protein but are calorie-light compared to other sources. Also try to incorporate more fish into your diet—shellfish like mussels are inexpensive and relatively easy to make, and a modest portion of wild-caught salmon is

I'm feeling pretty pleased with myself, because I made dinner tonight. Normally I help the husband/sit and watch him, but because he had to work today I took over the kitchen. I did this toasted spaghetti dish with mussels (I LOVE mussels!) and a roasted pepper/tomato pureed soup.

Because I want to keep it light, I want to share that we had the BEST BBQ for lunch today—so good that we're just having some bread, prosciutto and cheese for dinner.

Our one friend's daughter turned four in the early summer, and what's so great about her is that she has so many interests: she likes the Disney princess movies, but she also loves going to his family's farm and playing with her ride-on John Deere tractor. She'll like watching Cinderella and Snow White, but American
