@Political Party Girl: So, so true.
@Political Party Girl: So, so true.
@tscheese: I'll join you in that. We can be non-moddles together. And I'm close too!
@Taigan: I was sadly cheering "JER-SEY! JER-SEY!!" because I am from Philly and we always cheer against you ladies. But I was impressed with the height of her hair—certainly not as big as I expected. And Miss PA was absolutely ridiculous with her FINAL QUESTION—it's like if any of them mentioned "parents" it was…
@tscheese: You totally know that the pageant coaches have been schooling the ladies on how to sound moderately intelligent.
Oh, Miss PA...you let me down.
@MadelineBassett: SNORT!
@SpicyTamale: They were going to, but the strike nixed that plan.
@foree k.: I just downloaded it...it's so great. Oh yeah, oh yeah. So wrong, so right.
@fluxuspoo: Tina Fey's husband wrote it!
@foree k.: Seriously. I am now going to salute heaven when shit gets weird. And Hunter's song is still stuck in my head.
@mockingbird: Richard Armitage...just his VOICE is crazy sexy, but those eyes, and those hands...nom nom indeed. My fiance refers to him as a combination of Hugh Jackman, John Stamos and Patrick Dempsey.
@westvillagegirl: Wide Sargrasso Sea explores that whole side to the story. I can't say if it's any good or not, because by the time we got to that book I was so overwhelmed with other work that I let it slide.
@westvillagegirl: Oh, I totally agree. It did suck, in part due to them ignoring all the comedy and instead having everyone moon about in their nightclothes (when I meant "cut scenes for time," I was referring to the novel's scenes that they completely ignore). The 1995 version is the definitive version, hands down.
@tscheese: There's a new BBC version that recently aired on PBS that has gotten fab reviews: [en.wikipedia.org]) And since it's a miniseries, they likely didn't cut key scenes for time (::coughP&P2005cough::)
@hamburgerhotdog: I love UNQLO because of its simplicity—in my mind, mid-90's minimalism hasn't gone out of style, however.
@misssgolightly: Ugh. I wish him well. Are you within Amtrak distance? That may be a solid option if things get f-ed up—he can take a R-1 from the airport to 30th, and then get an Amtrak either north or south.
@hortense: And with illustrations by Quentin Blake.
@hatepaperdoll: I still remember having a horrible nightmare about that story when I was twelve. I then quickly proceeded to hide that copy of Scary Stories behind my bookcase (because throwing out a book I did, and still do not do).
@wednesdayam: Oh yeah, it's totally a non-issue, but I could see it being an "issue" with these people. We never had a Banned Books awareness week (but our local library did) in school, but we were also free to read pretty much any book we wanted. Those were the days...
@JessicaLovejoy: Boosh and/or Kakow!: The stories in Scary Stories don't scare me nearly as much as the illustrations—they are so heavily embedded into my brain that if I think about them even now, it's hard for me to fall asleep because they scare the shit out of me.
