I was privledged to see highlights from Debbie’s collection at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in LA (their annual costume exhibit from the previous year’s movies is the BEST). I only found out later how lucky I was to see many of the pieces together prior to getting sold off.

Also passed in Utah.

Basically don’t anger the cultural/heritage/librarian caretakers. It’s not even about politics, information and access and education is their passion!

Yes I did, and agree with your shock. It seemed so shiny and new, and I love all things history. The single exception was a pretty sweet exhibit on the Dust Bowl—sitting in a tiny house watching a storm coming on while hearing eyewitness accounts.

I tried to visit her house while on business in Denver. The organized tour was cancelled last minute so I went to a history museum instead. And then I watched Aloha to kill more time so basically it was a pretty terrible day!

This is terrible. I don’t work directly with statistics and data, but I know how, er, vital the vital statistics are.

But it really can feel that way, because food is so wrapped up in every facet of our social existence; being suddenly unable to participate in a low-maintenance way is incredibly isolating.
