With a chianti? Or do you go better with a Pinot Noir? Maybe something sweeter, like a Moscato?

(Goes into seizure)
If only I had acute encephalitis. Then I could forget everything!
Sad but true. Arrested Development (if I'm remembering correctly) at least won some Emmys during its first season, which inoculated it against cancellation for at least two seasons.
I'm guessing that, since it's a broadcast network, they figure it at least has a larger stature to it than more niche cable/streaming networks, such as Amazon and Hulu or Yahoo!. So if they don't have as many 'guaranteed' eyes near NBC (a network that everyone gets with their TV) than there's less incentive for…
"Did you enjoy the show? Admit it, you must have. And why shouldn't it feel good to cancel it? It does to NBC. Look at Community. They canceled that as well, without so much as a look towards the many fans. They enjoyed it."
Problem is I can see the execs and accounting departments viewing each of those examples as niche properties, and therefore not being a good, solid, profitable example for why they should pick it up (never mind that Hannibal is just as niche a show as the rest)
You kid, but I've been rationalizing how, even if Hannibal doesn't find a home on another network, we can just say how "Manhunter" and "The Silence of the Lambs" are acceptable sequels to the series. (And you can drop that "Hannibal" movie nonsense.)
Pretty solid comment/avatar image symmetry.
I'm guessing the latter example is similar to Torrance finding the ghost-woman in that one hotel room?
Ahhhhh, yes. I do remember that quite distinctly, and get tickled by their inclusion of it each time. Such a great way to introduce people the atmosphere of the show.
You might say he was getting some TAKEOUT! (Because he took the 'insides' out of Pazzi!)
Ahhh, I see. Now that makes sense. And here I was only thinking fecally.
Now you see, I've watched that Pilot at least 2-3 times, and I've never picked up on it. Care to share?
Ah, but I believe they are taking more inspiration/notes from the books, not the films (although they do play their part in the series.) Unless I misunderstood your question?
Oh hey. Totally forgot their was a TV adaptation. Guess I should check that out as well.
I was going to say, as far as the comparisons between Scott's film and this series, is that Lecter's lie of Dr. Fell remains in place, visible only to those who know who Lecter really is. To me, it works so much better.
Upvoted for the last line. Ahahahahahaha!
Agreed. Not something I was thinking about, as far as Jack's motivation for kicking Lecter's ass went, but it made sense for the character.
Absolutely agree with you on that. Amazing since I too knew what was going to happen to him, and even more so that they managed to spin out some pathos from his relationship to his wife without it seeming forced.
