It's actually easy for Amazon to pull out of the iOS ecosystem. As pointed out by Farhad Manjoo on Slate, Amazon simply makes their Kindle app a web application, which they are planning on doing anyways. Completely subvert Apple.
@wætherman: I had this thought to. But consider one very obvious thing: the guy had to know he was using a stolen computer if he wasn't the initial robber. There was someone's files and he couldn't change anything on the computer. Possession of stolen equipment is almost as bad as stealing in the first place.
The sequel to Superman Returns sounds like it could have been really cool and maybe validated the first movie.

I really like the point he makes at the end about our houses today being more about entertaining others than us living in them. My parent's house has an entire room only used for entertaining that is bigger than his house. He's absolutely right: for the price saved on mortgage, go rent a hall for parties.

@olternaut: Actually, the reason CGI is getting to look more fake is our fault. We become more discerning as the technology gets better and notice more flaws rather than simply suspending belief. It's sad, but I am no longer amazed by CGI spectacles like I used to be.

@Bruce Irvin: I have to politely disagree. It's still 250 bones and it's not exactly like a teenager is going to be begging for one like an ipod. Parents and grandparents get what their kids are clamoring for, not what is shiny and kind of cool looking.
Further evidence that BN doesn't get it. Introducing a LCD Nook without 3g is a mistake. They already have a presence on tablets. Why build a weak and underpowered one yourself? It's not like they are going to be exploring areas that Kindle isn't as the Kindle app is already on tons of devices. They should have worked…
