The only big thing I’d like is for missions to go back to being up to the player in terms of how they’re tackled. It used to be that they just tell you X needs to get done, do whatever you want to get it done. RDR2 was the total opposite of that. If you strayed even a little from what they wanted the narrative to look

Can only speak for me, but... I enjoyed it. I didn’t “hype” (I’ve grown out of that, I find that I enjoy games a lot more if I’m not expecting The Greatest Game EVAR!”), bought it at launch, and played it for 170 hours. And then I moved on to one of the many other big releases that came out at the same time. (just

Wow can a game be ubersnubbed if they’re not even mentioned in a snubs list? Did I hit my head and Octopath Traveler II didn’t come out in 2023 and have one of the best scores I’ve ever heard?

Also on the console side, each one has parental control features that no one seems to know about.

While that is certainly unfortunate, at least three of the games mentioned are meant for an age group above that of the child. So you can cross those off the list of “marketed to children”.  And ultimately this goes back to personal responsibility, which is at the heart of any addiction.  Nobody put a gun to your head

The one thing I’d add to the list is Shangri-La Frontier.  It’s not the kind of anime I expected to like, but it’s quickly become one of my favorites for 2023.

I agree but we know CEOs will then just reclassify their employees as contractors....

Institute a ceo to lowest employee salary and benefits max ratio

Oof. Am I glad to have stopped working for Gamestop ages ago. I also no longer shop there. I feel bad for the employees. They’re the ones doing all the work and dealing with all the bull. As a company, Gamestop needs to die. They've been steadily enshittifying every aspect of their business for years now. I'll miss

Seems like a mix between baked animations, blending, and procedural animation with IKs… Basically anything you can do in Unreal.

They were elected, just like Bibi was elected!

“The game can start to get unbalanced as you begin unlocking more powers and accumulating upgrades, especially in the second half.”

Eh, there was crunch in BG3's development despite the large release window. Larian Studios are pretty ambitious as reflected in their other successful games that they’re constantly making large leaps in development, costs, and time. BG3 may be great, because LS wanted it to be great out of ambition, not out of making

Any true fan would much rather wait longer for something great than have something sub-optimal thrown out early. The people throwing out rage and death threats at delays are not fans, they are crazy fanatics that need to seek treatment for mental health issues.

Yes, and then you can watch your companion of choice go on a murderous rampage. Andreja said something about a planet full of life being a blessing when we landed, but I didn't think it was because she was gonna kill all my farm animals.

Slow news day?

You can make farms with the animal husbandry outpost building.

In a bit of a surprising move, Sony shared details and images of two new slimmer PS5 models which seem to be set to completely replace the current versions of the popular console.

Fun fact. People with anxiety issues can’t always control what gives them anxiety.

I’m confused by the negative reviews from so many outlets. The most recent games have been criticized for their bloat, but a lot of the negative reviews I’ve seen have criticized Mirage for lacking features I’d associate with... bloat. I’ve definitely read about how uninteresting the story is, but I haven’t really
