I believe Vader can shoot it out of his armpits.

Sheev (I refuse to call him anything else ever again) is trying super-hard to clue Anakin in without going "I AM A SITH LORD, YOU DUM-DUM," but Anakin is so thick that he can't pick up on even the least subtle of hints. I just feel intensely awkward for both of them, which was probably not the emotion that scene was

Ugh, the lead character is awful. Did the first movie assume its audience would think that they're too cool for an underdog-sports karaoke movie? That's the only reason I can think of for making "petulant" and "music snob" Kendrick's character's main traits.

My college roommate's first exposure to the Funky Phantom was in the fever-dream episode of Mystery Incorporated, and the whole time, she thought everyone was calling him The Fucking Phantom. Which, coincidentally, is what I call him whenever I stumble upon his awful show.

Y'all are so wack.

A teacher at my high school dated a girl in my mom's class after she graduated. That student also became a teacher at my school (after they'd stopped dating), and when I went there, she was the head of their shared department. I feel incredibly awkward just thinking about it.

I think that if she was faking, she would have turned it out more onstage, a la BDLC in last year's Snatch Game. "I don't feel confident, but I pushed through it and killed the challenge" > "I don't feel confident, and my feelings were well-founded, because I stank." The judges love (the illusion of) growth.

He should take a lesson from the Proopsmith and stop talking.

I saw it right after I saw Jupiter Ascending, so I was happy just to have a coherent plot and character motivations. I'm not sure how much I would've liked it in a different context, but yeah, it was a lot of fun.

They may not actually be male (I am just gonna go ahead and not look up Transformer reproduction), but they're coded as such, with male voices and masculine pronouns. And there are also "girl" robots already, who even have robot boobs.

Jay-Z's not the kind of girl who gives up just like that.

And I'm being uncharitable. Maybe those references were funny in context, but they certainly did not work as standalone jokes for someone who wasn't familiar with the material being referenced.

I guess I don't!

I have kind of a similar problem with Doctor Who. Many of my friends, including my now-husband, got really into it while I was away at college. Once, when I was home over Christmas, there was some big premier or something and my friends had a party, which my husband convinced me to attend. It was a lovely evening of

Yeah, that doesn't stack up against all the evidence you've provided!

Another thing that tends to give character death less weight: "Shocking" random deaths in every goddamn thing.

I bet it's harder when you have knife feet!

It would be great if she still had knife feet in Star Trek: Tokyo Drift

Not really. It's mostly a roller coaster, but there are several bits where it's more like a dark ride, with a combination of screens and physical props.
