If I was married to a swimmer, I’d demand he be shirtless most of the time.

But Uber is a technology company that just facilitates independent car owners to create new opportunities for themselves. Why burden Uber and Lyft with anti-business regulations when in fact these are independent contractors that should be protected from government persecution, and other BS and whatnot.
I LOVE HER.
Bacon tastes great! I’m just ethically opposed to eating it and its production. I’m not sure what’s so hard to understand about that. Not to mention that when you’re used to eating one way the easiest thing to do is just swap 1 thing for a different version of it.
Because I am against their treatment and slaughter, not what they taste like. Why is this so hard to understand?
Meat evangelists are worse than fucking vegans...
Shout out to everyone who sees through my sinister Jez agenda. Whahahahahahahahaha WHO YOU GONNA CALL?!
I think the A’s (AA, NA, GA etc) are court mandated so often because they are really the only form of rehab that can be mandated. Programs that mandate other forms of rehab get backlogged due to space and affordability issues.
I’m 8½ years sober. I was/am a blackout alkie. Towards the end, I drank about a fifth of vodka a day and I’m 5'5"/105 lbs. Every single day I would wake up (come to) shaky and swollen. I put vodka in the water bottle beside my bed. I drank pure vanilla extract when I was desperate (I tried Listerine, but the minty…
I don’t think the courts expect it to work for everyone, but since it’s a free resource and it *might* end up working for some, why not give it a try?
All I know is NA can work wonders for people. In the beginning whenever I had a night where I REALLY wanted to take a pill, I’d just find a meeting and go. That was how I kept myself from going over the ledge.
YES. Honestly I was a drinker from ages 13 through 28, and the last couple years have just been this amazing journey of growing up and figuring out who I am and what I want without it all being clouded and confused and stunted by alcohol/drugs. I don't take the opportunity to brag very often but HELL YES SOBRIETY…
I get that. I’m 3 years sober but only really needed it the first year. It helped me socialize other young people getting sober, which is good while you are young, in college and it feels like everyone is drinking.
i get you.
I agree. I have complicated feelings in regards to AA. AA helped me through a really awful period of time when I first quit drinking, but I also didn’t feel the need to keep going after a which a lot of hardcore AA people assume means I’m drowning (I'm 2.5 years sober and doing well). I respect AA for what it did for…
I just always saw it like medication. Certain medications work for SOME people but not EVERYONE. If it doesn’t work for you, you try something else.
something i hate about AA is how polarizing it is. next week i’ll have two years sober thanks to AA and i see it on both sides. people being adamant it’s the only solution and people (already in the comments) declaring it is garbage because it didnt work for them.
Sometimes I learn that things I mistakenly thought were quite cool are actually things I should have been embarrassed by all along. See: musicals, debate team, a capella, piano bars. And then I remember that everyone is wrong and those things are quite cool and that I’m glad I’m a grownup now so I get to decide that.
