Civ V is probably one of the most - if not the most- accessible 4x out there. Not just because of the great difficulty levels that offer a lot of options, but also because it’s more grounded compared to sci-fi or fantasy settings like the other games you mentioned. So it’s easier to get a grasp of what most things

same with me ... the most successful 4x game that I’ve played (until the end) is only Master of Orion 2 ... the rest are disasters ... I didn’t know what I did wrong

Thea isn’t really a 4x game you have 1 city and send groups off on adventures. All the events have full oname narration with lots of options on how to solve problems.

Beginners guide to 4X:

This isn’t really a 4x, you can’t expand and there’s nothing to exterminate (well no organize player). It’s more of an old school RPG than a 4x.

Thea isn’t a strategy 4X like Civ or GalCiv, its more an RPG/4X at the same time. The enemies are monsters and quests that roam around the map. The monsters you can avoid to a degree. Plus they let you customize the difficulty settings quite a bit so you can find your sweet spot for challange and fun.

I really like

Public parks often ‘close’ at night only meaning, any injury or idiodicy caused to you or from you in the park at that time is in no way fault of the city. You can still go there, but its at your own risk.

Valve always does the right thing after they’ve pissed everyone off. I knew they’d come around.

As much as I enjoy the game you guys are really over doing it with every other post being about the game.

It doesn’t matter if it is Japan or America. This is dumb as shit.

The controller is....I dunno, kinda okay...I guess.

That console, though, Jesus Christ....that’s got to be the single ugliest special edition console I have ever seen.

Shame.....shame.....shame.....shame....

Well now I know why they call it King’s Landing.

The wall of shame and regrets

One of the best interpretations I’ve ever heard is that each game is a different culture’s re-telling of the same ancient legend

Ultimately it’s all free so it sucks for modders, but doesn’t affect their bottom line. Either they weren’t going to release it on Console, or if they were, then their version will be better because it will get updates. The modders already started adding a script extender that will never be on console as a type of DRM

Not exactly. It’s really easy to get clogged roads in game if your street design , city layout, and public services aren’t up to par. 20k tends to be a breaking point for many people with terrible layouts.

Not if you build it with GPU optimization for the physics calcs.

I played this at a mall when I was a kid. It cost $5 to play for what seemed like maybe one minute or less. Ah, childhood.

Wow, I remember an OLD OLD gaming magazine, forget who, who talked about the chicago mech pods. I remember always wanting to go try it.
