It’s a great show. Wonderful writing and performances, sweet, sad, and funny all together. Can’t wait for S2!

i couldnt get into it

It is a great show. I am really looking forward to the second season.

I went on a Tig binge and read her book and watched her doc and listened to a bunch of her standup and then started One Mississippi. It’s good, but there’s so much retread that I quit because I’d seen/heard/read it all multiple times already. If you’re acquainted with Tig and like her, but haven’t had a ton of

It’s funny/sad/funny and shines a light on the typically odd southern family in a low key way that ultimately comes across as kind and forgiving. So I guess it’s kind of sweet in its own way.

1 - I tried watching the first season a couple times and just didn’t get into it. I’ve followed a lot of Tig’s stuff though so maybe the story is just kind of tired to me (I know that sounds awful). I felt similarly with Mike Birbiglia’s Sleep Walk with Me. I read the book, I saw the standup, TAL, I watched the

Agreed. She and that actor are very good together.

It really is a lovely show. Very different from anything else on TV. Great pacing. I love her interactions with her brother and stepfather.

I did not find the show funny or interesting. The premise is: I’m a lesbian who grew up in MS and now I’m coming home. yawn

I really like dit. It feels like a very natural extension of her dry humor. And it’s incredibly touching.

I really liked the show. It could be very sad. But it also was the perfect dynamic to show off how funny she is. The scenes with her stepfather are the best.

I think it is a great show. It is funny and sad and unique. I’ve been eagerly awaiting season 2 for some time. I love the character of her step dad.

It made me cry and miss my Southern mother (who is alive, just lives far away).

My fan theory is that she faked her own death to escape a suffocating marriage.

I’m a Donna truther.

Not gonna lie, I watch the hell out of the hallmark channel from about October to January. I’m 27 and I find it super relaxing/very easy background noise for whatever I’m working on.

I sincerely thought he had been dead for years.

It’s also an opportunity to remind the right wing that solar eclipse glasses are totally a liberal hoax.

Yes, exactly. Stopping the funeral so everyone could what he had to say. UGH, this fucking guy.

BINGO.

This, exactly. Like a locker room celebration after a sports championship where everyone quiets down when the president calls.
