I don’t have a score card, but I’d put money down that the number of breaches due to lazy IT patch applying is far more than due to zero days. It’s true there no safe thing as a 100% secure system, but there’s also no theft proof home or car. Doesn’t mean you don’t lock your doors.

Except, from my understanding, this wasn’t a zero-day.  They failed to apply the patch to a known vulnerability, which has happened far too often in many hacking cases.
