Vapid, self-obsessed, and ignorant. And a regular theme is “you can be vapid, self-obsessed, and ignorant and still attract quality mates like Mark Darcy” or the PE teacher in Mad About the Boy. (I’m guessing most of the anti-Mark commenters here didn’t read the books because he’s actually pretty frickin’ awesome in

I want to just say how sad it makes me that schools need to have sex assault policies in the first place. I suffered my share of emotional abuse in school but I never felt physically unsafe and it’s total bullshit that we can’t send our kids to required schooling without fearing for their safety.

The moral of the story: eat a good breakfast, get a new car, and fuck leaving an estate.

I have a complicated relationship with the Bridget Jones books. I love them (well, I loved the first two), but I’m laughing AT her, not WITH her. She’s an incompetent buffoon and the fact that so many women apparently identify wither her makes me sad. The fact that they’re held up as textbooks for understanding women

I’m so claustrophobic I couldn’t read past the first paragraph.

I wanted to be in family friend’s quinceanera court but wasn’t asked. I got the fuck over it. I mean, yeah, I’m posting about it here but it hasn’t really affected the relationship.

In profile, Linus Roache even resembles a young Sam Waterston, so one’s mind can totally fill in a contentious father-son relationship.

I loved those last few seasons with Cutter and Lupo. The show had just regained it’s quality when they canceled it and I was bummed.

Yeah, it’s a soap opera for teens in (highly inaccurate) period dress. But it’s gorgeous to look at, great fun to watch, Catherine is the shit, and that part where Mary, with her would-be assassin’s blood on her gown, announces “I AM MARY, QUEEN OF SCOTS AND I’M HERE TO RECLAIM MY THRONE”? Fucking gold.

That’s been on my to-watch list forever.

And the links! Oh the links! Prince So and So was married to Princess So and So and she sounds super interesting so I’ll go read about her now!

You’re welcome!

I loved the first episode, watched about 3 after that and have always intended to finish. But if it went 3 seasons without my feeling compelled to watch it, would I really have liked it that much? I mean, I could have it watched this summer instead of rewatching HIMYM. Again.

Counterpoint: I watch historical dramas/read historical fiction with iPhone in hand, Googling my heart out to see if that actually happened. And I know a shit-ton of actual history for having done so.

I side-eyed Reign for half a season, then completely gave in to it’s soap-opera-in-fancy-dress-with-cute-boys-and-good-music splendor. Bring on the beautiful inaccuracies!

People who aren’t trolling or just assholes probably don’t concern themselves too much with having been dismissed. I don’t, despite also assuming it’s happened. I got better things to do then internet-fight with strangers. I love dismissing trolls/assholes and the only thing that would improve the feeling of

Sounds like that’s what they want.

I thought Asylum was over-the-top, everything-and-the-kitchen-sink storytelling. It was good, but just so much. Aliens! Skin wearing serial killers! Demonic possession! Mad scientist! (And the umpty-bazillion other elements they threw in.) I would preferred a more streamlined tale.

Other people can’t see it either, so the person who posted it was talking into a vacuum. The only way I’d change it was for the dismissed to get a notification of the fact they were dismissed, but with no ability to further respond on the thread a la “you dismissed me, motherfucker?”

You know what would be kind of neat? If every platform, everywhere, had a Kinja “dismiss” function. I love that thing. I’d use it IRL if I could.
