Capitalism is the problem.

No, that is misleading at best.

All of those studies were poorly designed and did not take into account realistic exposure levels. Instead they focus only one one route of exposure or identifying lethal dose levels.

“There is no singular reason the bees are dying and neonicotinoids are surely not the sole cause. Nevertheless, we can add this to a very long list of ways humans are destroying our precious, precious planet.”

Great little trucks, but absolutely deadly for winter driving. Even with winter tires and weight in the back end it took very little to send it spinning.

One of my pet peeves, seems like 95% of the time it's a Honda.

Isn't the difference that evaporated cane juice is unrefined, whereas traditional white sugar is a refined product? Seems like a difference to me...

It’s quite simple. GMO used to mean transgenic organism, until the purveyors and proponents of said organisms deliberately muddied the linguistic waters, thereby leading to discussions like this comments section.

Yes! And I want it delivered at THE SPEED OF LINT!

False dichotomy.

Lawns are the scourge. Dandelions are useful for all sorts of things and are also a great food source for pollinators,.

No, it has undergone selective breeding for tens of thousands of years. Direct genetic modification is a relatively new technology.

Wow, I may actually be part of the very small demographic that would be perfect for. I need a small(ish) 4wd vehicle for beekeeping. You don’t want to go too fast with a load of bees on board anyways, and the vibrations from a diesel keep them calm...

Indeed. One of my guiding principles in life is to never underestimate humanities capacity for stupidity.

So is it Monsanto or Syngenta paying you to spout thier talking points?

Wow. Your clear, dispassionate, and well-reasoned arguement has convinced me (What I might say if you actually presented an arguement instead trying to attack me as well with the ‘anti-science rhetoric).

No. GMO is the acronym for a very specific set of techniques used to cut and paste genetic material from one organism to another. It tells me a lot.

Capitalist markets rely on consumers making INFORMED decisions.

I want to know all of those things, including whether the genome of the organisms I am eating were modified through artificial means.

Conflating selective breeding with direct genetic modification (cutting and pasting genes from one organism to another) serves no purpose other than obfuscation. The FDA may be sticking with thier ‘substantial equivalence’ position, but in reality these are fundamentally different means of modifying DNA.
