I’ve seen impassioned Republican women who are being ground down into dirt by their employer vehemently defend that employer’s right to cancel hours, cut pay, eliminate perks, etc. It’s kind of astonishing, like something out of a feudal medieval skit on TV.

Except the way Nolan described it is not accurate. They can fire you, they just can’t downsize and eliminate your position without offering you another job in another part of the company.
