Reliability.

That’s an excellent question, and it’s one that I couldn’t answer when we decided to get a Highlander.

I agree. We ding Lexus around here all the time for lack of power, ugly designs and generally dull cars, but this thing looks awesome in every way. I’ve never considered a Lexus before due to lack of performance, but if they can build cars like this — combining forced-induction performance with typical Lexus build

Yes, people are driving on the wrong roads.

Yeah, what the hell is it with Seventies inreriors? Fifties interiors were gorgeous, Sixties interiors were hit and miss so but definitely started getting worse, and Seventies interiors were pure crap. Maybe five percent — and I think I’m being generous here — of interiors in the Seventies were decent, and Mercedes

Agreed. Spend a few thousand more and get a Camaro or even a Vette. The mid-70s Vettes are slow, as is this car, but Vettes of that era are cheap, much prettier, have a V8, sound absolutely fantastic and are fun at low speeds.

No, it isn’t. Regardless of how beautiful or fast or great-sounding a car may be, if it costs this much to maintain it after 1,000 miles, it’s a worthless piece of shit.

Not in his wildest dreams will he find one under $40k, but yes, that is an excellent option.

What is wrong with you?

I’m all for V, but don’t you think a V would make more sense than a V Sport, though?

That car is putting me to sleep by just looking at it.

Also, where have you seen a Panamera Turbo that doesn’t need an extended warranty?

I didn’t think of this before, but that’s really not a bad option at all. The only thing I wonder about is how comfortable he’ll be in a car like this given his size.

Why are you here?

A good option on paper, but the early ones especially had their fair share of mechanical issues, and they’re expensive to maintain.

He also clearly stated that he doesn’t like dealing with repair issues, and yet people have suggested Italian, German and British cars.

Great idea. He’s 6 foot, 300 pounds and doesn’t want to deal with repair issues, but hey sure, let’s give him an Italian compact.

Um....yeah....German is an increase in reliability over Ford like .... oh shit, I give up.

Because it’s not as good as a V — and a 2012 or earlier V can be had for under $40k.

The depreciation curve on that car is not over.
