As far as I know they still have them. I was reading an interview of something where they said they wanted players to be able to do Spider-Man things that normal controls can’t offer.

Generally speaking these people are a small fraction of the player base and many are straight up trolls. I really don’t think that will have as much of an effect of being crammed between two titles likely to sell a combined 13 million units would.

You should probably know that the werewolf there is pretty much designed to kill you so you can pick a weapon.  It’s kind of a weird design choice, but as somebody who says they went through some Souls games, I would imagine you’d be used to that and not so easily put off.

I don’t think you’re stupid, but the game really opens up after the ranch, which is basically an extended tutorial. 

I played most of Destiny 1 on my own, did pretty much everything (except the raids), and had a good time. Currently playing D2 with a couple of buddies, but I think you can play on your own and do just fine, you can play it as an occasional distractor.
