The last Marvel vs Capcom had fabulous gameplay and aesthetics were a big reason that killed that game

That’s it. The models are just bad, Captain America doesn’t look anything like he should, and by that I don’t mean just Chris Evans.  Thor doesn’t look right.  Stark doesn’t look right.  I’m fine with not doing MCU, Spider-man did that just fine.  But these guys look distractingly wrong.

Man, all respect to the voice actors, but it’s so close to the MCU aesthetic that them NOT being Chris Evans/Hemsworth, RDJ, etc throws me off. Doesn’t help that the characters themselves look like the Marvel’s Avengers On Ice versions, or that Cap apparently thinks he’s in a Call of Duty game, based on his outfit.…

I hope so but I feel like we haven’t really lived with these version of the characters long enough to care.  Maybe I will be wrong. 

The AV Club company line is that Infinity War is bad, even though it was way more solid juggling everything than it had any right to.

Agreed that third act drops off, but the ending is a gut punch. Despite flaws First Avenger told a simple focused story that paid off with a great character arc. Whereas IW was a bunch of scenes of differing quality.

the general placements of the movies are right even if I would swap some around in their specific areas (like Dark World being the worst, Ragnarok being even lower, maybe Black Panther being knocked down a few places [don’t kill me for that one])

Yeah, pretty much. I might flip 1 & 2 and Captain Marvel might be a couple spots higher, but otherwise not much to argue about.

I am SO GODDAMN OUTRAGED that I basically agree with most of this and don’t have a chance to write a sarcastic spittle-flecked list of all my problems with it.
