If you agree about Russia, why are you upset about the American “jingoism” directed towards a Russian athlete. If Americans we calling out British or French or Brazilian athletes I’d agree that we’d be hypocritical, but even you recognize that Russia's systematic cheating is different from the other. So, why is

If you have no problem with it then why are you so against people being happy

Then just enjoy it your way, and let us enjoy it our way. The problem is you're trying to ruin the fun for everyone else with your cynicism. If you think they're all doping that fine, but some of us don't, so let us be fine with that.

Can you point me in the direction of this anonymous poll? I'm actually interested in reading about it.

Exactly. If anything she made herself more money by showing she has personality as apposed to be a bland, PC, regular girl.

You really think he's right? That everyone is doping, even the 15 year olds?

No, that's exactly what it means. You made up more than 6 different events in your mind and then complained there were too many. And your "fixes" are retarded. You don't know how swimming works, so just stop talking about it.

The men's winner went a 3:42. So she's about 14 seconds behind. I read somewhere that her time in the 1500 would have been the 10 fastest man in the world last year.

Natural progression. There weren't as many in London because of the suit added swims in 08-09, but after 7 years the natural progression of the sport has caught up. But don't get to excited there won't be too man more records.

Did you ever improve at anything from when you were 17 to 19? Her progression as swimmer is not unnatural or shocking or anything. The rate that she has improved is incredibly normal for teenage swimmers. She was just starting at a different place than a normal teenager.

What's so unrealistic about a 19 year old doing better than her 17 year old self? People keep forgetting this was already her record. She just beat herself.

You need to stop using this example. Dropping 10 seconds over 25 years in an event as long as the 800 isn’t an outrageous feat. That’s a little over 1 second per 100, I’m willing to bet every swimming race there is has had its world record dropped by over 1 second per 100 over the last 25 years. It’s just the natural

It not a double standard if they’re in different circumstances. The progression of Ledecky from age 15-19 is the exact same progression that you’ll see in any swimmer at that age. All over the world teenagers drop a ton of time at that age, it’s completely normal. Ledecky is just starting at a higher level. What you

Ledecky has also dropped a lot of time from when she was 15-19, you know the age when a human being naturally develops into a full adult. Hosszu dropped a ton of time from 23-27 which is usually way past the prime of women swimmers. If Ledecky drops another 6 seconds of the next four years maybe it’ll look iffy, but

If you want to believe everyone is doping, that’s fine. Just take it somewhere else. You’re getting annoying now.

You had to ask if they do an 800m butterfly. You don't know how swimming works.

The thing that makes me suspicious is the age. These kind of drops can be seen in younger swimmers, see Katie Ledecky going from super teenager to just naturally growing into super woman. But for older swimmers by the time they’re in their 20s these kind of drops don’t happen. Especially in women. Missy Franklin at 21

Hey, that's something!

This is a very good analogy.
