Still the greatest swim I've ever seen. Not sure how long it will be before anyone comes close to it.

He was over second up on the team he went in behind.

This is so stupid. You don’t even know how swimming works, so don’t go trying to fix it. It isn’t broken in anyway.

What do you mean when you say "better than all of the other 3"? Are you talking about the other 3 American swimmers on that relay? Nathan Adrian went a 46.9. That was the fastest swim by any of the 32 swimmers in the race. Don't be such an idiot.

Exactly. It's not that kicking under water is faster it's just smarter to maximize your push off of the wall as much as you can.

I got your science for you. At any point in a swim race a swimmer is at his absolute top speed when he dives in the pool or pushes off of a wall. The point of the turn is to extend that top speed for as long as possible. So, they come of the wall and hold that tight streamline position to stay a hydrodynamic as

Because it’s incredibly hard to do. The only way to recover in any sort of way in a swimming race is to breath, and the amount of energy that is expended quickly in a race like the 100 free requires most swimmers to surface sooner and breath. There’s a reason Phelps is the best swimmer of all time, he can use the

I’d also drop Bolt down just because of the flukiness of the 100. And really #2 should be Ledecky in the 400m right behind her in the 800m.

Well that's why Votto apologized later isn't it?

To be fair, he loves Cincinnati. He's already said he'd veto any trade involving him, which is why the team hasn't even tried to move him.

KAT- “Now it begins”

I bet he works harder at swinging that bat than anything you've ever worked at.

If anyone tries to argue otherwise just ask them which they’d rather watch: good teams play each other, bad teams play each other, or good teams play bad teams.

Fact. I loved the BCS. I dare anyone to name one time it didn’t get the correct teams. I’ll wait.

I first saw this story on ESPN's front page and the first things I noticed were a picture of Michael's face and the words BREAKING NEWS! For a second my heart stopped, and I'd thought we'd lost Michael.

Well she supposedly fought with another woman so I don't think she'd get the same type of bruises an NFL running back could produce. As for which category these fall under, I'm not a forensic expert.

By you definition of LAW anytime anyone is ever accused of a crime they must be arrested regardless of witnesses or evidence.

How come deadspin's made no mention of the tweets claiming Elliot has texts claiming the victim was going to set him up? I think his side of the story is as equally interesting and important as hers.

Each is a little worse than the other in different ways. Actual domestic violence is obviously way worse than a false accusation. But every time we convict a domestic abuser its a good thing going forward, but every time someone is caught lying about it, it just gives more ammo to the next person to say so and so lied
