I understand why she did this. Years ago, Taraji P. Henson said she couldn’t get her rate quote up because although she was getting hired for movies like Benjamin Button, she was still getting paid pennies. She said she couldn’t demand a bigger paycheck until after Tyler hired her and paid her a decent salary. She

I feel like male actors get to make a LOT more than 2 critically meh/financially unsuccessful movies before people start questioning whether their careers are over or ruined. Especially if that actor’s resume includes being the lead in a successful franchise and an Oscar win (among three other nominations). Jennifer

It’s not snark. Bobby just mentioned that being rich sounds satisfying, presumably because it allows you to do great stuff for people.

Eh, I totally lost my shit after my mom died. People handle grief differently and I think that is one thing no one should be judged on.

She went in on his ass, as required, but yea she hit him in the feels, because he turned into a petty little bitch real quick.

I particularly enjoyed 5FootAssassin’s opener:

I mean, sure, he’s almost pure Irish, but he seriously looks like he’s going to burst into flames at the first hint of sunlight.

But seriously, when was the last time he was a relevant actor? Cop Land? That was 20 years ago...

I really like their podcast and both of their sense of humor. I will say they both grew up in very white environments that shaped who they are, who they date and how they come across. I don’t think there is anything wrong with it because they are both pretty open on their podcast about the type of environment they

Predicted response: “But it’s SOOOOO awkward to do the *right* thing!”

So – I’m a little busy right now to do a truly comprehensive list without getting a check for it – especially since I’d essentially be doing the author’s work – but would it not have been useful to at least list *some* of the most prominent current women whose work has been co-opted and whitewashed and erased?

“If you’re talking about gender equality but not talking about racism, you just don’t have effective reform.”

I’d still hit it.

Bangs are a godsend for people with resting bitch face, because they add a touch of relatable friendliness to your overall look.

As a woman interviewed by the Root said earlier this week: “Racism is white people’s problem. They started it. They need to fix it.”

That commentator ‘Siege Mentality...’ just casually AllLivesMatter-ed Zinzi’s statement. Remarkable.

He’s privileged yes, but he uses that for good. There is nothing wrong with that. Stop shaming people for no good reason. He’s earned all his credentials by merit. It’s pretty clear just looking at his resume.

He’s not the one making that call, though - he’s still the employee. If he demurred, I guarantee those law/political/journalism jobs would go to another privileged white man, probably a middle-aged cynic interested in writing a gossip column or leapfrogging to a lobbyist job.

I’m a black, disabled, queer woman from the south and I don’t resent a fucking to-the-manor-born journalist one bit. He hasn’t taken a thing from me and, with this gig, has given so very much back to me. Hush.

Anyone can be a journalist in this day and age. It doesn’t require you to have rich white privileged parents. Yes, he’s using the assets he was given to help highlight things and make people pay attention, but isn’t that the appropriate route to take?
