I don’t think a developer/publisher has ever been more scared about a ten year old game outselling their big new AAA release. It’s the only reason it’s not sold separately. Guaranteed.

Not only is Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi creating a new studio, he’s also making new games. According to Gamer, Sakaguchi recently said working is progressing on several smartphone titles as well as a console game. Sakaguchi said he might even release “a few new titles” next year, but I’m assuming he’s…

Goodbye Naora :(
Thanks for all the great art for all the great Final Fantasy games.
For all of my gripes with FFX, it has one of the best openings of any in the series. I still remember reading the Game Informer cover story on the art direction too and how it was one of the first FF worlds to feel truly unique, rather than a riff on Blade Runner or Tolkien, etc.
I don’t think there’s any question that the art direction for Final Fantasy X was a large part of what made it so special. Great header image. I’m sad to see Naora go, but I hope his independent contributions in the future are as iconic as some of his past work.
Artist Yusuke Naora announced yesterday on Twitter that he has left Square Enix. Naora, who was art director on a number of Square Enix games, including Final Fantasy XV, got his start as a field graphic designer for Final Fantasy VI. According to Nova Crystallis, he will still work with Square Enix in the future.

What happens when you mix Overwatch with One Piece? Cool fan art, it seems.
Looks like there’s a new Senran Kagura coming! In an upcoming issue of Famitsu, a new entry in Marvelous’ unapologetically pervy ninja series will be announced. There are hints that it could be VR.

“We were sad,” Matsuyama continued, “but we’re not children.”
I just want them to keep making anime games for their entire existence. They’re the only studio putting out consistent quality work adaptation-wise.
Since they’re done with Naruto.. Perhaps they can come back to .hack// and give us those re-releases everyone wants for PS2 games on the PS4.
I’m dying to play them all..I’d probably even take the time to 100% them all.
