TBH, I wouldn’t mind giving Alexandra Shipp and Kody Smit-McFee another shot at their characters.
TBH, I wouldn’t mind giving Alexandra Shipp and Kody Smit-McFee another shot at their characters.
We just won’t let Hugh Jackman be finished with Wolverine.
He does tell us over and over again in perfectly reasonable terms why he won’t do it again, and he even gave us an exceptionally good finale movie in which the character straight up gets old and dies.
But then, we sit here in the comments section in wide-eyed…
by comparisons, journalists who work for many (most) major publications belong to a Writers Guild that protects their interests when articles they have written and published are adapted into other media. There is no such equivalent union for comics writers
I’m not entirely sure that Alan Moore is the best example in this instance. He seems to be his own curmudgeonly animal with his own personal grievances. He now refuses to be credited on any adaptations of his work that he doesn’t control himself and also consistently refuses any compensation DC and WB (and anyone,…
It’s true that having Dwayne Johnson play a superhero means you don’t have to pad out the costume, but there is a crucial drawback.
He doesn’t exactly disappear into the role. For the most part, he seems to play one character, Himself. For some actors that’s not a bad thing. It has worked OK for Robert Downey Jr.,…
My least favorite part of the film was the people in my theater who brought an infant to a sold-out 9pm showing of a bloody, hyper-violent, R-rated action movie. I mean WTF.
Making a movie, particularly a big tentpole like The Batman is full of challenges and frustrations in the best of times. Having to suddenly recalibrate how nearly everything in production is done slows down everything and creates a whole new set of other challenges, especially if it’s in the middle of filming and you…
I think that the most likely reason why he wasn’t asked to participate may be that Drax might not have much of a role in What If?. Having said that, Bautista has been quite open about the physical challenges of keeping in shape to play Drax essentially as a shirtless character. This has been his main reason for…
I am basically too old to really know anything about how beloved ‘Clifford’ is in general, or what his appeal is as the center of a potential movie franchise.
They filmed Clifford 2 years ago. A teaser came out quite a while ago which showed just how weird that dog looks, and they have had plenty of time to adjust its appearance. If there’s something really wrong with the movie, then I don’t think it’s fixable at this point.
I wasn’t aware that there was some “better” Director’s Cut of Rogue One sitting around somewhere.
I also would be interested in seeing the Miller-Lord version of Solo, as Ron Howard is reported to have re-shot almost the entire movie.
I don’t know that disgruntled directors can always just insist on an Alan Smithee credit. There may be certain conditions that have to be met. It also creates more publicity for a supposedly corrupted movie, especially when there has been copious amounts of pre-publicity and everyone knows who directed it anyway.
HBO Max views were meant to translate into subscriptions, nit ticket sales. This is the gauge of success for the Snyder Cut, and we haven’t really gotten any data on that. We probably never will.
These articles seem to confirm that Ayer oversaw the re-shoots, but then, re-shoots are totally expected on even the most acclaimed superhero movies, or any major tentpole movie, really.
I saw it.
Wasn’t that great.
It’s not an issue of whether or not Scarlett Johansson will be “fine” or not. I’m sure she has long since made enough money to never have to work agian several times over even if she had never made Black Widow. The point is that business is business and contracts are contracts.
Avengers: Endgame has thus far pulled in nearly $2.8 Billion at the box office globally. They aren’t making movies on merchandising income over at Marvel/Disney. This is all gravy.
Disagree.
I think it’s totally obvious that he stopped dyeing his hair, but it’s kind of funny to see people speculating that there’s something more complex going on.
Dyeing your hair to hide the gray is a huge pain in the ass, and while we are socially conditioned to accept a certain amount of artifice when it comes to women’s…
If Goyer is responsible for a cinematic mess like Batman v Superman, then he is not really in a position to cast too many stones, but when it comes to talking about leadership, he is on to something.
