It’s not too far from the way Aquaman was characterized in Batman: The Brave & The Bold. I mean, that was a broad, comical cartoon, but the attitude was kind of similar —and that’s not a slam. The DC animated shows often nail the superhero characters far better than the films have.

Darth Maul was a character introduced in The Phantom Menace, one of the main Star Wars movies. There were so many problems with Suicide Squad that making the villain Steppenwolf would not have fixed it in any way.
