Well. . . . I think we do know that comic book movie death is a relative term. GOTG vol 2 seems to suggest that some other re-imagined Guardians characters will be appearing again, but I think that it is safe to say that nobody was planning to get rid of the core team anytime soon.

That’s a good way of putting it. People didn’t think they were being racist, but there was a lot of unconscious holdover behavior from the 70s, 60s and even the 50s. People were less sophisticated about racism. They figured that if Black people could sit anywhere they wanted on the bus, use all the same bathrooms and

I am fully on board with all villains in every movie being played by Mark Strong.

Who are you to keep Frances Conroy from getting a nice, shiny film role? And since when did internet commenters get twisted about on-the-nose casting? Usually it’s the offbeat, unexpected casting that gets their hackles up.

Agreed. One would assume that if she knows Misty, then she must at least know about Luke, and probably Jessica, Danny and Matt as well. Misty just got a nice prosthetic arm in MCU’s vague timeline. It may be a little juiced up, but I don’t think we have seen her go full superpower bionic yet.

I don’t think it is necessary to pit one Lex Luthor against another. The Internet has finally made me sick and tired of the need to list and rank everything on Earth. Having said that, Clancy Brown will always be my favorite Luthor. I always wish that he and CCH Pounder had been given the chance to do live action

I think that when these things resurface after several years, and they have already been acknowledged, apologized for and disavowed, then we should all be able to move on and behave like adults. Unfortunately, corporate behemoths like Disney are so scared for their stock price and any adverse publicity, that they will

I get that it is verrrry important to DC and Warner Brothers that Aquaman succeed. SDCC is important, but I have to question the wisdom of having such heavy promotion of the movie a full 5 months before its release. Is everyone going to be sick of hearing about it by the time it actually hits the screen? It all reeks

Since Fox is going to be part of Disney, home of Marvel, it’s hard to imagine them making a superhero feature film with something other than Marvel IP.

Look, everyone, just to clarify:

Movie theater owners are really resistant to four-hour movies. Fewer showings mean less money for them on a daily basis. Studios feel the same way, especially at those budgets. Anyway, from a business perspective, Dune could potentially be a multi-film franchise, which is what it was supposed to be when Lynch did it.

I’m not that familiar with the source material, but the miniseries managed to encompass more of the book’s plot as I understand it, so it was a lot more coherent.

You are confusing Alec Newman who played Paul with Matt Keeslar who played Feyd Rautha and played The Middleman.

You are in no way alone. The movie has its quirky charms, but it is also deeply flawed. Opinions on it range over the entire spectrum from brilliant to disaster. Its director famously had his name removed, so all opinions are valid.

I doubt that they will have Barbara Gordon as Oracle before she has been Batgirl since a main part of the reason she becomes Oracle depends on her having been Batgirl.

Everything is pointless if you insist on being that cynical.

You say that, and then it happens and . . . . Ugh.

I would certainly love to see more, but sometimes I wonder if we shouldn’t just leave Agent Carter alone. I don’t think Netflix wants to be known as the de-facto receptacle for other networks’ underapprecited shows, and they do already have five regular, interconnected Marvel shoes with an additional Defenders return

None of those shows, Charmed, Angel or Buffy the Vampire Slayer ever aired on the CW in their initial runs. CW didn’t exist. They were all on the WB network and had ended their runs before WB and UPN merged.

It’s worth noting that AT&T just fully acquired Warner Bros. as part of their big merger, and it is not totally clear exactly how involved they are planning to be. They just had a big meeting with HBO where it appeared that they may be just a bit less hands off than they had originally indicated. Whether or not they
