The Swamp Thing looks gorgeous. Dan Stevens as Constantine and Chiwetel Ejiofor are great casting choices, and Natalie Dormer would make an excellent Zatanna (although she is hardly the only strong potential choice). The Zatanna look, however is way off. She is not a punky street urchin, however cool that might seem.

There’s a Space Bigfoot movie? Where can I get tickets?

Does anyone actually stand in line outside a movie theater for movies anymore in the age of the multiplex and Fandango? Seriously?

It’s always stunning to me how people don’t want to believe something that is told to them over and over again. The creature in The Shape of Water is inspired by the Creature from the Black Lagoon, whom he resembles in many ways. del Toro has mentioned this countless times while promoting this movie. Obviously he

Well, you have a rational take on the merger process as opposed to the wildly optimistic assumption that the X-Men and Avengers will immediately be meeting up in the MCU. Even Kevin Feige has said that the X-Men work very well in their own Universe and that there is still a huge well of characters for him to use in

That is why the events of  X-3 were basically wiped away by Days of Future Past. It is a terrible movie, but it doesn’t erase what was so good a bout the two that came before it.

I don’t think we are going to see much of Singer doing anything going forward if recent events are any indication. Apparently his professional behavior has been a big problem for a long time, and being fired from Bohemian Rhapsody, only compounds the sexual harassment issues that are resurfacing for him. It’s a good

Kill Bill in Space? I’d actually like to see that.

Zach Snyder wasn’t “brought on” to make Batman v Superman, he was already on board because he made Man of Steel.

Actually, in the recent Vanity Fair cover story about Marvel Studios, Feige made it very clear that meeting with the comics folks was of marginal value. Marvel lucked out with Feige. He’s a fan with deep knowledge of his source material, but isn’t so tied to it that must slavishly follow every character’s backstory.

What’s interesting here is that these details are implying that rather than being a cosmic force that encounters Jean (as in various iterations of the comics canon), the Phoenix is something that’s always been inside Jean, just waiting for the right trigger to appear

If the Disney-Fox deal goes through (and that’s a big if), I don’t think that they will immediately merge the X-Men characters into the existing MCU. I expect that Disney will put Kevin Feige in charge of everything Marvel on film, and it will be up to him how and when or even if he wants to integrate the properties

Justice League is certainly better than Suicide Squad and Batman v Superman. If DC/WB proceeds to work more on movies that stand alone as individual stories like Wonder Woman instead of forcing team-ups that they haven’t earned story-wise, then they might be able to right their ship. If Aquaman turns out to be good,

Really, is there any question that Inhumans is not only canceled, but relegated to the “Let’s pretend this never happened” category? I don’t think that Ming-Na Wen was suggesting anything anyone didn’t already know.

I don’t think that “multiverse” is a term like “mutant” or “metahuman” that is specifically associated with one of the companies or the other.

It’s not complicated. It’s like when Aunt May says, “You’re not Superman, you know,” to Peter Parker in Spider-Man 2. It just means that they have movies and comic books of fictional characters in their world. It’s not the biggest bombshell in the world, but when Oliver Queen actually mentions Bruce Wayne by name it

So, you think that just because you have seen an actor play one sort of character that she couldn’t possibly be capable of anything else? If that were the case, then Tom Hanks would have spent his entire career working in lighthearted sitcoms. I certainly hope you aren’t a casting director.

I really liked Wolverine and the X-Men, and it really seems to have fallen into the cracks over time. I think they might have tried to cram too much into the story with the whole Days of Future Past framework and flashbacks/flashforwards throughout the show. Maybe it was neglected because it was on Nicktoons? I don’t

I really don’t know how anyone got the notion that there was some completed alternate version of Justice League lying around that could be released. That’s not how movies are made. Snyder left the project, but if he hadn’t, the plan still would have been to release the movie —including scheduled reshoots— with Joss

I mean, I get the aesthetic here, bleak though it is. The main issue is that the style is completely, utterly wrong for the White House, which, for better or worse should always be classic and traditional. This looks like something out of a pretentious boutique hotel, which makes perfect sense considering who lives
