My personal power rankings for female actors playing Arrowverse heroines/villains:

Ciara Renee is serviceable as Hawkgirl so far, IMHO.

Let's hope he hasn't…provided…any DNA samples, then.

He's taken DNA samples, for one.

True, but I don't mind using the same actors as visual shorthand. Still, if you want to do flashbacks — and if you don't want to be bothered explaining how reincarnation works in the Arrowverse — then cast actors that look ethnicity-appropriate for the various flashbacks you want to do.

Re: Rule of Three: in addition to Hawkgirl, they already cast an African-British actor (Franz Drameh) to play Jefferson Jackson. Wentworth Miller (Captain Cold) is biracial. The cast of LoT is arguably more diverse than some other shows on TV — but that doesn't mean that they couldn't have have made a smarter choice

Oliver's baby moms' stipulation *is* contrived — and stupid. The writers would've done better to crib the Gilmore Girls' storyline where Luke finds out about his own previously-unknown daughter. In that story, Luke's ex grants him visitation rights, but forbids him from letting his current girlfriend (fiancee?)

I'm not digging the casting for Hawkman/Carter Hall. I get why they whitewashed Egyptians back in the 1940s (back when Hawkman was created), but in 2015, why not cast a brown-skinned actor?

BTAS > STAS, but STAS starts threads that are continued through JL and JLU, whereas BTAS is more of a stand-alone series.

-1 to this article (and to the original i09 article) for not mentioning the late, great Dwayne McDuffie.

Family Matters "upscale"? I LOL'ed. Family Matters was no Black Frasier.

Howard's a good actor, but his Lucious is simply not credible as an MC — at least, not a critically-acclaimed GOAT MC candidate. He comes off like Master P, not Jay Z.

The fight scenes in Arrow look spectacular; the action scenes in The Flash look pretty great too (especially for a TV budget). Why can't the same brain trust get it right with Supergirl — when they're working with a larger budget? The wire work on Supergirl looks terrible, and Benoist — for all her charm as Kara —

Not sure why Tyler Breeze gets a slot in the tourney in his debut match (only to job), while the New Day spin their wheels in a meaningless 3-man tag match.

Martinelli's. Indeed.

More on Jay Jackson, aka "Perd Hapley":

How many shows is Perd Hapley on? Parks & Rec., Scandal, PLL, Supergirl… Hasn't he also popped up in the Arrowverse as well? At this point, he'd be a major component to McDuffie's Grand Unification Theory of TV (aka Six Degrees of St Elsewhere).

Oliver wore an olive green suit to announce his candidacy for mayor. A little on the nose, no?

i figured that Will's last name was Chekov when he brandished that gun. Imagine my surprise when the gun didn't fire.

Oof. Jackson's introduction was so clunky. "No. We won this.. …. …. as a *team*." Bad writing, bad directing, etc.
