I'm tired of heroes saying "I have to do this alone" — especially when the hero clearly needs the help. The CW's Berlanti-verse trots out that trope every other episode.

Odd; I thought Bennett did a great job.

I dunno. This wasn't the WWF. Was every guy in every territory roided up back then?

The comparisons will be inevitable, but the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel runs circles around this pilot.

I heard that as "genie in your bottle" — with "bottle" as euphemism. "Butthole" was implied, of course, but I didn't hear it stated.

So, the previous pilot which was turned into Cruel Intentions 2 doesn't count, then?

LoT as it's currently constructed simply isn't equipped to handle references to the castration of enslaved Africans — even in passing.

Magenta might be the most powerful non-speedster meta on the show.

Nick Zano is straight off the assembly line of White, square jawed CW leading men types. I get that Heywood is a character from DC lore, but he's such a minor character (and, thus far, he's so far removed from the comics version), that Berlanti et al could've used virtually anyone else instead. If we just stick with

I can't keep all of these timelines straight. Which one has the reformed Pied Piper again?

Barrowman (aka Bad Arrow Man) is a better villain name than "Malcolm Merlyn."

Sue falls into a neat little trope of hyperserious, competent, "Mama don't take no mess" Black women. Think Catherine from NewsRadio. Both characters were "under-served" — which is often writer code for "we're clearly out of our element, and we're worried that if we make them as goofy as the others, it'll be

"Serpentine!"

"I am your conscience. Why don't you say something nice about the seven gods and wrap it up?"

If only Brother Ray had asked Brother Devon to get the tables….

I'm guessing they'll trot out Pied Piper to beef up the Scooby Gang if Twells truly stays on Earth-2. The retconned, reformed Hartley will basically be The Flash's version of Curtis Holt.

Acc. to dc.wikia, Havencroft (not Havenrock) is established as a suburb of Monument Point in the comics.

It's gotta be tough to find a stunt double with Willa Holland's slender legs. She makes her standard-sized stunt double look like Chun Li.

Has Monument Point been mentioned as a major city in the Arrowverse before this episode? For a moment, I thought it might be a neighborhood in Starling City.

Fine. Not the ocean, then. Route it towards a desert.
