Even like just a couple years ago I felt pretty good about the future. Two things in particular I believed we’d see change for the better in my lifetime: the US would get single payer health care and we’d finally abolish the death penalty. Now I think neither may happen, or at least things will get much worse before…

One thing I hope they stay true to is that Offred’s goal was to survive, rather than to resist. I thought it was interesting to have a protagonist in a dystopian story who was kind of ordinary instead of heroic. The way she challenged the Aunt in the trailer seemed out of character.

It was good but pretty devastating. I mean you know about the worst part but it was just generally really sad.
